ABOUT THE NORTH BUFFALO ORGANIZATION
The North Buffalo Organization envisions a walkable, beautiful, clean, and safe neighborhood; a vibrant business environment; a healthy community; a neighborhood rich in cultural experiences; and an engaged and well-informed constituency. NBO shares this vision with several other North Buffalo groups and works to collaborate with all stakeholders.
NBO’s own role in achieving this vision to date includes: establishing the North Buffalo Farmers Market; conducting bi-annual clean-up events; creating and maintaining media vehicles to promote the neighborhood and keep the community informed; and hosting public meetings for networking and sharing of resources. Plans are also underway for new initiatives related to public art, economic development, and infrastructure. Community input is welcome and encouraged.
Why NBO was started
The North Buffalo Organization’s first meeting in January 2014 attracted dozens of area residents, business owners, and leaders of other community initiatives who came together to discuss the emergence of the North Buffalo area and pursue common goals for enhancing quality of life.
Community response to a comprehensive survey indicated a consensus for immediate action items. Based on those preferences, NBO has collaboratively established -- or is pursuing -- the following to date:
North Buffalo Farmers Market
Community beautification activities
Digital communication and social media tools
Promotional support for businesses
Public art initiatives
Alliances with other community groups
With significant successes to date, NBO is poised to take on additional projects including cityscaping, traffic calming, public art, small business promotion and more.
To do this we need financial support from the community. Read more about how you can help.
NBO is also seeking to expand its Board of Directors with individuals who are willing to work and take responsibility for projects and activities. If you are interested in being considered, contact us now.
